SAADIA USMANI
About me
Everyone has a unique story to tell and we must understand that not everyone is a 'public speaker' or enjoys being in the limelight. Therefore, the ability to be supportive, encouraging and sensitive are key factors that help people become confident communicators.
My broadcasting experience allows me to see things from both sides of the table. I spent 15 years working in the UK for BBC Radio and Television. I then worked in Public Relations for another 15 years helping a variety of organisations to raise their profile in the media. I noticed that people dreaded public speaking in any shape or form, so that’s when I decided to use my skills to train people and build their confidence.
COMMUNICATIONS
The Importance of Communications Training
Whether you like it or not, at some point you will need to stand up in front of an audience in both your professional and personal life. Majority of us dread it.
The fear of public speaking is known as Glossophobia and it affects 75% of people, so you are not alone. Feeling stress and anxiety can come from teaching, pitching, presenting at a conference, attending a job interview or doing a speech for work or even a wedding.
Although most people hate public speaking, only 8% consider training to overcome this fear. By addressing your fears, you are in a better position to access better career options, expand your network base and improve your self-confidence and wellbeing in both your professional and personal life.
